ABOUT US

I grew up at the beach and have always been inspired by the potential of turning ‘trash’ into something new and better. It seems such a waste to throw out a sail that isn’t seaworthy. Most of the sails I use are about 300-500 feet of sailcloth. That is a lot a cloth to throw out, especially since 95% of the cloth is still in good condition.  I cut around what can’t be used and have saved the other parts for future upcycle projects. Bad Latitude Bags is doing its part to curb the shocking volume of discarded materials that end up in landfills each year.

Benefits of Upcycling
The environmental benefits of upcycling are enormous. It reduces the demand for the use of new or raw materials in production. A lower demand for these materials means a reduction in air pollution, water pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions, helping us conserve our precious global resources.
